Drink Water Treatment Technologies

Most domestic water treatment systems sold in Australia and New Zealand are based on Carbon Fiber or Carbon Block microfiltration technologies. A microfiltration filter has a pore size around 0.1 micron. When water undergoes microfiltration, many microorganisms are removed, but viruses remain in the water. Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Purification represents the largest market segment in value. RO is a water purification technology that uses semipermeable membranes which have a pore size around 0.0001 micron, large enough to allow water molecules to pass through but small enough to block other all other types of molecules, including viruses and minerals (like fluoride). After water passes through a reverse osmosis filter, it is essentially pure water.

RO Water Stations : fast, efficient and convenient

Philips' innovative Under-the-Sink RO Water Stations make use of the latest Reverse Osmosis technologies. Fast-Flow RO membranes support instant filtration, eliminating the need for water storage tanks. Traditional RO systems would need 4 litres of water to make 1 litre of purified water. The latest Philips Fast Flow RO systems only need approximately 1.5 litres of water to make 1 litre of purified water. In addition to that, the integrated waterways of Philips UTS RO Water Stations support reduced installation time, reduced maintenance and reduced risks of leakage.
